Reviewers who have put a number on Valentino Siesto Connecticut 1971 have almost always reached for the Toro. At 52 × 6 the shade-grown Ecuadorian wrapper gets the room it needs, and the Dominican Olor binder keeps the San Vicente and Criollo 98 filler from crowding it. Every leaf in the Premium Series has rested between six and ten years before a roller touches it, which is a large part of why this cigar smokes so quietly.

Expect a sweet, faintly floral start, then cedar, toasted bread and a soft coffee note in the middle third, closing with white pepper and nuts. The draw is open, the ash pale and firm. Alongside the Sun Grown Toro it makes the clearest side-by-side in the range: same size, two very different wrappers.
