Valentino Siesto Connecticut 1971 – Corona Gorda
Despite the name, the Connecticut 1971 Corona Gorda is a ring 60 cigar — a genuine gordo in a six-inch length. The wide bunch changes the arithmetic: more Dominican filler under the same Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a cooler draw, and a longer sit than either the Robusto or the Toro.
The extra volume pushes the creamy side of the blend forward. Cedar and cold cream lead, hazelnut and light caramel arrive around the halfway mark, and the finish stays clean rather than turning bitter — the reward for a slow, unhurried smoke. Give it ninety minutes and a large ashtray.
