Swap the shade-grown leaf for an Ecuadorian sun-grown Habano and the same Dominican bunch turns into something else entirely. The Sun Grown Robusto is the shortest way into that change: 52 × 5, Dominican Olor binder, all-Dominican filler, and a wrapper that has spent its life in full sun rather than under cloth.
Wood and warm earth lead, with leather underneath and a black-pepper prickle that never tips over into heat. Around the band the smoke turns creamier and a balsamic, almost resinous note appears. Solidly medium, and one of the few cigars in this range that works equally well before dinner and after it.
