Valentino Siesto is a boutique Dominican house founded in 2014 and rolled at its own factory in Tamboril. On the brand's plantations, banana is planted every other year in place of a tobacco crop so the soil gets its potassium, magnesium and calcium back without artificial fertiliser, and the leaf for the Premium Series then rests between six and ten years before a roller ever touches it.
The range at Chaveta runs from the shade-grown Connecticut 1971, through the medium-bodied Sun Grown and the San Andrés Maduro, to the black-and-gold Nero Black boxes of ten and the once-a-year Anniversary Doble Capa, rolled with two wrapper leaves instead of one. Every cigar is a hand-made Dominican long filler.
