The Cuban petit corona is the Marevas vitola — 129 mm by a 42 ring gauge in its classic form, and the reference point for a 30 to 40 minute Havana.
It is arguably the purest way to read a Cuban marca. The thin ring gauge gives the wrapper a large say in the flavour and leaves nowhere for a rough blend to hide, so factories have historically used this size as their calling card. Expect a brisk, slightly warmer smoke than a robusto, with the strength arriving earlier in the cigar.
The catalogue includes the Montecristo No. 4, the Cohiba Siglo II, the Bolívar Petit Coronas, Hoyo de Monterrey Coronations and a deep run of Romeo y Julieta and Partagás petit coronas.
