The Cuban lancero is the Laguito No. 1 — 192 mm by a 38 ring gauge — together with the Laguito No. 2 and the long panetela vitolas: 150 mm and up, never thicker than a 40 ring.
Length without girth is the hardest thing to roll and the purest thing to smoke. With so little filler behind it, the wrapper leaf carries the flavour almost alone, and any flaw in bunching shows up immediately in the draw. Cuba originally made the format for Cohiba alone, and it remains the connoisseur's choice.
