Typically measuring around 4 7/8 to 5 1/2 inches with a 48–52 ring gauge, the robusto is the modern benchmark: long enough to develop real complexity, short enough to fit into an afternoon. The wider ring gauge lets blenders combine more leaves, producing a cool, generous draw and a rich, rounded smoke from the first light.
