New World perfecto and figurado cigars are shaped at both ends: closed feet, tapered heads, salomones, diademas and every variation in between.

Because the diameter changes along the cigar, the draw and the concentration of the smoke change with it. A closed foot starts tight and narrow, opens out through the belly, then tightens again — three cigars in one, and a genuine test of a roller's hands.
